Arianna Tricomi is a true inspiration.
There isn’t much that this power chic can’t do!
Skiing since she was a tot, Arianna is no stranger to the mountain. After 10 years of telemark skiing and alpine racing, Ari began freeskiing at the age of 16. She now literally flies off backcountry terrain on the Freeride World Tour and got 3rd place in overall ranking on her first year. Smashing it in style Ari was awarded “Rookie of the year”.
And that’s just her skiing. Ari also speaks 5 languages, is training to be a physiotherapist, climbs, mountain bikes and surfs as summertime training.
After having a chat with her you soon realise her secret … absolute passion for life.
What is your first skiing memory?
Mmm I'm not sure, but one of the first ski experience I can remember is when my mum took me telemarking with leather boots, I was only 6 and our dog Sting came with us. There was a lot of powder and I was stoked!
When you inspire so many, who is your inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my mum, she's the greatest skier I know (downhill world cup and Olympian) and she has the most beautiful soul !
How does skiing everyday take a toll on your skin?
Well, fortunately my mum told me since I was very young to put sunscreen on and finally I understood it's really important. I try to cover my face a lot when I ski, mostly because I want to try to be like a gangsta, but my lips get very dry sometimes, anyway it's for sure worth it
What are you doing if you're not skiing?
Currently I'm finishing university and will be soon a physiotherapist. Then I like to spend time in nature, high on the mountains hiking or biking. And my biggest passion besides skiing, is surfing, one day I will live on the beach.
What are you goals for the rest of the year?
Finish my last internship, have fun and be happy!
What does being adventurous mean to you?
Don't plan too much, be open for changes and smile all along the way, no matter what happens!
Good luck with the internship Ari and enjoy the European winter season! Hopefully we'll see you over this way up Cardrona next year :)
